- The area includes Badjevuohppenjarga - Jeambelesnjarga-Raidesuolu.
Slightly upstream Teigmo you come to an intact part of the Karasjok rivers characteristical meandersystem (riverturns). The area contains the river headland Badjevuohpenjarga and Jeambelesnjarga which lies opposite each other at the northern and southern banks of Karasjohka, 6-7 km downstream the centre of Karasjok. Of the characteristic riverheadlands these two are the only two the least destroyed by flooddikes, agricultural growing and other man made renderings of the landscape. They illustrate how the areas along the river of Karasjohka were before the settlement and the farming of the land begun.
The forrest in the inner part of the headland is partly dense birchwood with straight tallgropwing trees. Inside the headland there are large swampareas with starr and vierkratt. Downstream the headland there are fine sandy beaches with vierforrest.
The area is of extreme great value, great importance of protection of national and international interrest.
Raidesuolu- slightly downstream Teigmo is a flat holm/islet made by riverdeposits where the rivers Karasjohka and Anarjohka runs together. The area is charactereized by floodforrest in different growthstages.
The holm/islet is dominated by vierforrest and realtively moist mixture of birchmisxforrest with swampforrest in old riverruns. There are many spescies in this area.
At our opposite riverbank- from Javrrehasmuotkenjarga and down there are trap pits made by our ancestors. Even these are protected and the landscape may not be rendered or altered in any way due to these "footsteps" from the past.
At Holganjarga and our nearby surroundings we have a rich flora with plants and herbs used by our family and ancestors for centuries. Many of the species are not protected but scarse. Please beware of this before picking any plant. In the upper part of Siedgagoatnil - a part of Holganjarga you can see freshwatersprings above and under water: When looking down from a riverboat these springs looks like small geysirs or "volcanoes" of water. Springwater is some of the purest available.
The above named areas contains rich wildlife; Moose, reindeer, roe, fox, hare/rabbit, ducks: All inhabitants gotten uses to us visiting them but so afraid if approached in a wrongful manner. Any entering of the area should only take place accompanied by a skilled guide.
The best way of accessing these areas are by boat in summer or by a team of dogs in winter. This is the best environmental way of visiting without destroying the area.
- The river Karasjohka is a attraction in it self. Being the richest salmon river in Norway.
The area is well suited for trolling or to row with an angle or flyhook hanging behind the boat. Using a water ocular you may even see the fish at it swims up the river
At Teigmo you can see the old blacksmith where hundres of knives have been made the old fashioned way, you can even see an old guollebuvrri (place to store fish). Both of these buildings are regarded as protected being funded and restored by the Norweregian cultural heritage fund and fundings from the Finnmark fylke.
This inheritage of our beautyful surroundings and long family traditions obligates:
Through making our own Knife Guksi (traditional cup) Sled Pictures Charcoal drawings Paintings and Sami toys: Reindeer, horses, sleds, lavvus, sheep, we express our own culture.
